Being on Ranthambore Road, the resort is on the route our vehicles take to the gates, so pickup is easy and the morning drive to a core-zone reporting point is short. Outer-zone gates are further around the park and need an earlier start, which we set once the forest department allocates the zone. The station is a reasonable drive in the other direction and auto-rickshaws run along the road, which helps if you arrive without a transfer.
Rooms and cottages are set around a garden with a restaurant in the main building. They are simple, clean and air-conditioned, and that is the point: you pay for a bed near the park, not for design. Some categories are more basic than others, so ask what you are being offered. This is a budget to standard property and expectations should match. We collect from reception at the time sent the evening before, take you to the allocated gate, and the guide handles entry with the ID on the permit. The same jeep or canter returns you after the drive. For canter seats, the vehicle may collect other guests along the road on the way, so be ready on time. The resort can also arrange safaris; tell us if that is already done so a slot is not booked twice.
Meals are simple Indian food in the restaurant, usually a set menu or small buffet. Evenings are quiet.
