The Pugmark wildlife resort Ranthambore

The Pugmark, A Wildlife Resort, Ranthambore

The Pugmark, A Wildlife Resort, is a mid-range property on the Ranthambore Road side built around a wildlife theme, with tree-house style rooms among its accommodation and a standard-band tariff. Searchers often arrive looking for photos, so this page shows the resort's own pictures of the entrance, rooms and lounge alongside the description. We do not run the resort; we pair stays there with safari permits and pickup.

Location and Safari Access

The resort is on the Ranthambore Road side, the corridor our vehicles use between Sawai Madhopur town and the park gates, so pickup is routine and the pre-dawn drive to a core-zone gate is short. Outer-zone gates are further around the park and need an earlier start, which we set once the forest department allocates your zone. The station is a reasonable drive in the other direction, and transfers are easy to plan.

Rooms and Setting

The theme runs through the property: pugmark motifs, wildlife artwork and a layout that puts greenery between the rooms. The most talked-about rooms are the tree-house style units raised on stilts among the trees; there are also conventional cottages and rooms at ground level. All are air-conditioned. The tree-house style rooms are the ones people search for photos of, so ask the resort for current pictures and confirm which category you are being offered, along with the current tariff, at the time of booking.

Who It Suits

Families with children who will enjoy the tree-house idea, couples looking for something a little different at a standard-band price, and first-time visitors who want the stay to feel part of the wildlife trip. It suits a two-night stay with two safaris. Guests who want a polished deluxe finish, a spa or a large pool complex will prefer the bigger resorts on the road, and those on the tightest budget will find simpler stays nearby.

Tree-House Style Rooms: What to Know

Raised rooms mean stairs, so they suit able-bodied guests better than older relatives or anyone with a pushchair. They are the first category to sell out on holiday weekends, so book them early if that is the point of the stay. Being among trees, they are also where you will hear the most birdsong in the morning and see the most insects in the evening, which most children love and a few adults do not. Ask the resort what is included with the category and whether the balcony or deck is private.

Safari Pickup from The Pugmark

We collect from the reception at the time sent the evening before, take you to the allocated gate, and the guide handles entry with the ID on the permit. The same jeep or canter returns you after the drive. The resort also arranges safaris through its own desk; tell us if that is already done so a slot is not booked twice. Permits are allocated by the forest department and cannot be issued by the resort or by us.

Dining and Evenings

Meals are buffet-style Indian food in the restaurant, with outdoor seating in the cooler months and a bonfire on winter evenings when guests ask for one. There are a few simple restaurants along Ranthambore Road within a short drive if you want a change. Ask about early breakfast or a packed box before the morning safari and about lunch timing between the two slots, which children in particular find tight.

How to Book and What to Confirm

Fix your dates, let us apply for permits, and confirm the room once the forest department issues them. Confirm the current tariff and taxes, whether breakfast and station transfers are included, and which room category you are getting, because the tree-house style rooms and the ground-level rooms are quite different stays. Check the cancellation policy against the risk of permits not being allocated, and match the ID on the permit to the one you will carry. Our tour packages combine permits, pickup and a standard-band stay if you prefer one booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does The Pugmark arrange safari pickup?

The resort desk can arrange safaris, and we also collect guests from reception when permits are booked with us. Tell us which you are using so a slot is not booked twice.

Do you have photos of The Pugmark resort?

No. We do not hold hotel photos for any property, and the pictures on this page are park and safari scenes. Ask the resort directly for current photos of the room category you are considering.

Are the tree-house rooms at The Pugmark suitable for older guests?

They involve stairs, so they suit able-bodied guests best. Older relatives or anyone with limited mobility will find the ground-level rooms easier.

How far is The Pugmark from the safari gate?

It is on the Ranthambore Road side, a short drive from the main reporting points. Outer-zone gates are further around the park and need an earlier pickup.

What price band is The Pugmark in?

Standard, with the tree-house style rooms priced above the ground-level rooms. Check the current tariff at the time of booking.
