Ranthambhore Regency is one of the larger resorts on Ranthambore Road, with a big lawn, pool and dining hall that make it a regular choice for groups, corporate outings and families. It sits in the deluxe band. We are a local safari team and not part of the resort; we help its guests with permits and vehicles.
The resort is on Ranthambore Road, which our vehicles use to reach the gates, so pickup is straightforward even for a large party. For a core-zone slot the pre-dawn drive is short. Outer-zone gates are further around the park and need an earlier start, which we set once the forest department allocates the zones. Because the resort is a landmark, it is a convenient assembly point when several jeeps or a canter are collecting a group together.
Rooms and cottages are spread around a large central lawn with the pool and the main building at one end. The scale allows the resort to take a group of forty or more without feeling full, which smaller properties cannot. The decor is comfortable rather than showy. Because groups and weddings use it, the atmosphere can be lively; ask what is booked for your dates if you want quiet. Check the current tariff and room category at the time of booking.
Groups travelling together, families who want a pool and space for children to run, corporate outings and school or college trips are the regular guests. It also suits first-time visitors who want a dependable resort without paying luxury rates. It is not the choice for guests looking for a wilderness feel or an intimate camp. Photographers who want the earliest departures may prefer the Sherpur side, though the difference is a matter of minutes.
For individual guests we collect from the porch at the time sent the evening before. For groups we agree a single assembly time and vehicle list, and ask that everyone is at the porch with the ID used on their permit, since the gate checks each person. Several jeeps or a canter can leave together. The resort also has a travel desk that arranges safaris; tell us if that is already done so we do not double-book a slot.
Meals are buffet-style in a large dining hall, with outdoor dining on the lawn in winter. Evenings often include folk dance or music when groups are in residence, and the lawn is used for bonfires in the cooler months. There are a few outside restaurants along the road. Ask about early breakfast for the morning safari, lunch timing between slots and special menus for groups.
For groups, tell us the headcount and dates first. Permits are allocated per vehicle and per name by the forest department, so a group of twenty needs several jeeps or canter seats, and those need to be applied for together. Once permits are confirmed, book the rooms with the resort. Our budget canter group safari package is the usual pairing for larger parties; smaller families choose jeeps.
Ask what events are booked on your dates, confirm the current tariff and taxes, and check group rates and cancellation terms against the risk of permits not being allocated. Confirm station transfer arrangements for the group, early breakfast, and whether rooms can be allocated near each other. Collect the ID details for every person before we apply for permits, since names cannot be changed later.
