Ranthambore in November

Ranthambore Safari in November 2026

November is when Ranthambore turns comfortable again. The heat has gone, the light is soft in the mornings and evenings, and migratory birds arrive at the lakes. It is a strong month for photography and for first-time visitors, with Diwali bringing a short, very busy spell early in the month and the winter peak still a few weeks away.

Weather in November

Roughly 14 to 30°C. Mornings and evenings are cool and pleasant, afternoons are warm but not harsh, and the sky is usually clear. A light jacket is enough for the morning drive in the first half of the month and a warmer layer helps by the last week.

Wildlife in November

The forest is still green but starting to thin, and tigers begin to use the lakes and open tracks more as the weeks pass. Migratory ducks and waders arrive at the lakes and at Surwal Lake, which makes this a good month for birders as well as tiger watchers. Leopard, sloth bear, crocodile, sambar and chital are all part of a normal two-drive trip.

November Safari Timings

From 1 November the schedule shifts to 7.00 AM to 10.30 AM for the morning safari and 2.00 PM to 5.30 PM for the evening safari. That is later than October in the morning and earlier in the evening, so reporting and pickup times change on 1 November.

Diwali Week in Ranthambore

Diwali falls on 8 November 2026, and the days around it are among the busiest of the autumn for permits, hotels and trains into Sawai Madhopur. Families from Gujarat, West Bengal and Delhi plan around it. The weeks either side are much quieter, so if your dates are flexible, travel the week after Diwali for easier availability.

Booking Notes for November

November permits were part of the 1 August release for October to December, so book now and send a fallback date. Weekdays are far easier than weekends. We check the live position and tell you what is open before you pay.

Who Should Visit in November

Anyone who wants pleasant weather without the full winter crowds: first-time visitors, families, birders and photographers. The light is good, temperatures are kind to children and older visitors, and the lakes begin to draw wildlife. It is one of the easiest months in the year to plan around.
