Ranthambore tour from Bangalore

Ranthambore Tour from Bangalore

Bangalore is a long way from Rajasthan, so a Ranthambore tour from Bangalore is really a flight plus a road or rail leg. Once you accept that the journey takes most of a day each way, the trip becomes simple: fly to Jaipur, let us drive you down, and give yourself three nights in the park. Here is how we plan it for guests from Karnataka.

Fly to Jaipur, Then Road

This is the route we recommend to almost everyone from Bangalore. Direct flights to Jaipur take roughly 2.5 hours, and Jaipur is the nearest airport to the park at approximately 160 to 180 km. Our driver meets you at arrivals and the transfer to Sawai Madhopur is roughly 3 to 3.5 hours on a decent highway. A morning flight usually lands you at the hotel by mid-afternoon, which is comfortable for an evening safari if the permit has been secured in advance.

Fly to Delhi, Then Train or Road

Delhi has more flight frequencies from Bangalore, and from Delhi you can take a train to Sawai Madhopur or drive approximately 380 km, roughly 6 hours. The train option works well if you land in the evening and prefer to sleep on the way. The catch is that popular trains fill up, so book the rail leg as soon as your flight is fixed. On balance the Jaipur route is shorter door to door; the Delhi route makes sense if fares or timings are better.

Why Three Nights Makes Sense

With most of a day lost to travel on each side, two nights leaves you with only one full day in the park. Three nights gives you a settled rhythm: an evening safari on arrival day, a full day with morning and evening drives, and a morning safari before you leave. That is four safaris if you want them and three if you prefer an afternoon at the fort. It also gives you a buffer if a flight is delayed.

Suggested Day-by-Day Plan

Day 1: early flight from Bangalore to Jaipur, road transfer, check in, evening safari. Day 2: morning safari, rest through the heat of the day, evening safari. Day 3: morning safari, then Ranthambore Fort, the Ganesh temple and the lakeside pavilions in the afternoon. Day 4: optional early safari, breakfast, drive to Jaipur for an afternoon or evening flight home. If you have an extra day, a night in Jaipur on the way back rounds the trip off nicely.

Safari Permits and What to Expect

Every safari is a separate permit from the forest department, and zones are allocated at the time of booking rather than chosen at the gate. We book the permits before you fly so the dates are locked. Shared jeep seats are approximately Rs 2,200 to 2,500 per Indian visitor and canter seats approximately Rs 1,500 to 1,600, subject to revision by the department. We do not promise tiger sightings; three or four drives across different zones is the honest way to improve your odds.

What the Package Includes

A Bangalore package from us typically covers the hotel stay in Sawai Madhopur, all safari permits and the vehicle, airport pickup and drop at Jaipur, hotel-to-gate transfers, and coordination of your safari slots with your flight times. Flights are booked by you or by us on request. Pricing is quoted on enquiry because it depends on hotel category, number of safaris, jeep or canter, and the travel dates; we send a line-item quote so you can compare.

Best Months and Cost Drivers

October to April is the comfortable window, with December and January cool in the mornings. April and May are hot but often productive for sightings near water. The park core is closed in the monsoon. Costs climb in the December holidays and on long weekends, when both flights and permits are in demand. Book flights and permits together at least a few weeks ahead for those dates.
