A shared jeep is sold per seat, so you may ride with up to five other visitors. It is the most affordable way to get the smaller-vehicle experience. A private jeep reserves the whole vehicle for your group, so no strangers join and you control the space. Jeeps run in two daily slots that shift with sunrise and sunset. In October the morning drive runs 6.30 AM to 10.00 AM and the evening drive 2.30 PM to 6.00 PM. From November to January it is 7.00 AM to 10.30 AM and 2.00 PM to 5.30 PM. From April the morning slot starts at 6.00 AM. The full season table is below. Jeeps are allotted across all ten zones. Zones 1 to 5 are the core areas around Padam Talao, Raj Bagh, and Jogi Mahal that are most associated with tiger sightings, and zones 6 to 10 are buffer routes with fewer vehicles. The zone is assigned with the permit. You can state a preference and we will request it, but final allocation depends on availability for your date and slot.
Choose a jeep if you are a couple, a family with children or senior members, a small group of friends, or a photographer. The smaller vehicle is quieter, can reposition more easily at a sighting, and gives each person more room. If cost matters more than space, a canter covers the same zones for less.
