Tiger Machan Resort is a mid-range resort on Ranthambore Road with rooms around a garden and a pool that guests use in the gap between safaris. It sits in the standard band. We are a local safari team and not part of the resort; we help its guests with permits and pickup.
The resort is on Ranthambore Road, which our vehicles use to reach the gates, so pickup is routine and the pre-dawn drive to a core-zone gate is short. Outer-zone gates sit further around the park and need an earlier start, which we set once the forest department allocates your zone. The station is a reasonable drive in the other direction and the road is good, so transfers are simple at either end of the trip.
Rooms are in low blocks or cottages around a garden with the pool at the centre and a restaurant in the main building. They are air-conditioned and clean, with the basics done well rather than any designer flourish. The pool is the reason many families choose it over other standard-band properties. Families who want a pool without paying deluxe rates, couples on a value-conscious trip, and small groups splitting a jeep. It suits two-night trips with a safari on each day and afternoons by the pool. Those on the tightest budget will find cheaper rooms along the road and in town.
We collect from reception at the time sent the evening before, take you to the allocated gate, and the guide handles entry with the ID on the permit. The same jeep or canter returns you after the drive. The resort can also arrange safaris through its own desk; tell us if that is already done so a slot is not duplicated. Permits come from the forest department through the online system and are not issued by the hotel or by us.
Meals are buffet or set-menu Indian food in the restaurant, with garden seating in winter and a bonfire on some evenings. Evenings are quiet and most guests eat early after the afternoon safari. There are simple restaurants along the road. Ask about early breakfast or a packed box before the morning slot and lunch timing between the two safaris, and check pool hours if children want to swim in the afternoon.
