The Tigress Ranthambhore resort
The Tigress is a spa resort on Ranthambore Road with rooms and villas set in gardens, a pool and a spa built around the idea of resting well between safaris. It sits in the deluxe band. We are not connected to the resort; we help guests staying there with permits and safari pickup.
The resort is on Ranthambore Road, the corridor that our safari vehicles use to reach the gates, so pickup is simple and the pre-dawn start for a core-zone slot is short. Outer-zone gates are further around the park and need an earlier pickup, which we set once the forest department allocates your zone. The station is a reasonable drive in the other direction, and the road itself is good, so transfers are uncomplicated.
Accommodation is in rooms and larger villas arranged around gardens, with the pool and spa at the centre of the resort. The design is contemporary rather than heritage, with a calm, low-key feel. The spa is the distinguishing feature and is used by guests in the gap between the morning and evening safari slots. Room categories and what each includes change by season, so confirm the current tariff and inclusions at the time of booking.
Couples who want the trip to feel like a break as much as a safari, guests who will use the spa, and families who want a pool for the afternoons are the main visitors. It suits people who prefer modern comfort to canvas or heritage styling. If you want the wilderness feel of the Sherpur camps, or the lowest possible tariff, it will not be the right fit. Small groups of friends also find the villa layout works well.
We collect guests from the porch at the time sent the evening before, take you to the allocated gate, handle entry with the ID on the permit, and return you after the drive in the same vehicle. The resort has a travel desk that also arranges safaris; if that is already in hand, tell us so we do not book the same slot twice. Either way, the permit comes from the forest department and is not issued by the hotel or by us.
Meals are in the restaurant, with outdoor seating in the cooler months. The menu is broad, with Indian and continental dishes and options for guests on restricted diets if told in advance. Evenings are quiet; some guests book a spa treatment after the evening safari and eat late. Ask about early breakfast or a packed box before the morning slot and whether lunch can be timed around the afternoon gap.
Fix your dates, let us apply for permits, and then confirm the room once the forest department issues them. Rooms are rarely the limiting factor; permits are. If you prefer one booking, our tour packages combine permits, pickup and a deluxe-band stay. If you have already booked the resort, we can add drives to it and send you the pickup times the evening before each safari.
Confirm the current tariff and taxes, whether breakfast and station transfers are included, and how spa treatments are charged. Check the cancellation policy against the risk of permits not being allocated. Ask about villa versus room differences, pool timings and any events booked on your dates. Match the ID on the permit to the one you will carry to the gate.
