Know Before You Go
Carry the original ID
Bring the same document used for the booking: Aadhaar, voter ID, driving licence or passport (passport for foreign nationals). Names are checked against the permit at the gate.
Which IDs workNo mobile phones on safari
Under Supreme Court guidelines now enforced in Ranthambore, visitors cannot use mobile phones on safari. Bring a camera for photos. We confirm the current gate rule with your permit.
Be at the gate on time
Morning safaris start between 6 and 7 AM depending on the month. We send your exact reporting time and pickup plan with the permit.
Dress for an open vehicle
Warm layers, a cap and gloves for winter dawns; sun protection and water from March. Muted colours such as khaki, olive or grey.
Tigers are never guaranteed
Ranthambore has one of the best sighting records in India, but it is a wild forest. Two or more safaris improve your odds, and we tell you honestly which zones have been active.
Carry some cash
ATMs and shops are in Sawai Madhopur town, 10 to 14 km from the park, and mobile signal is patchy near some lodges. Tips for the driver and guide are customary.
Frequently asked questions
What camera gear is recommended for this tour?
A telephoto lens of 400mm or longer is strongly recommended. A tripod or bean bag for vehicle mounting significantly improves sharpness.
Are there extra camera charges inside the park?
Yes. The forest department charges ₹500 per DSLR/professional camera. Mobile phones are free. Our naturalist will brief you on the rules.
What is the maximum group size?
We limit photography tour groups to 4 guests per Jeep so everyone has clear sightlines and space to work without obstruction.
